I was celebrating a milestone birthday and chose this place based on previous reviews, I was not disappointed. The choice of food was fantastic, the lemon sole and tortellini were melt in the mouth and the desserts were simply delicious. Great choice of wines. The service was excellent and timely. The staff were friendly, professional and not imposing. This is a great place to dine in a smallish group or as a couple. It's intimate, cozy and has a fabulous atmosphere. I would definitely recommend dining here.

Once again, we visited Stranded for my wife's birthday whilst on a long weekend in London. It may be a long way to go for a meal, (over 600 miles from the north of Scotland) but again it was well worth it!! Marco and his staff did us proud again with a wonderful meal and perfect attention. My sea bream was perfectly cooked and Muriel said that her lamb was 'melt in the mouth' with delicious accomaniments. Her tirimasu was, she said, the best she has had anywhere (and it is her favourite dessert), whilst my profiteroles with an Italian twist was absolutely divine. Again, Muriel had a birthday candle in her tiramisu and Marco & Co sang 'Happy Birthday'. As I had forgotten to bring my camera, Marco took some photos on his own one and will e-mail them to me. Now that is what I call service!! Many thanks to everyone at Stranded for a truly memorable evening.
We booked Stranded in London for our Corporate Christmas Party early December 2007. I have to say that all of my expectations were fullfilled completely. The staff were helpful above and beyond the call of duty. The food was out of this world. Considering that this was a Corporate Christmas Dinner, I could not have rated this any higher.
"Thank you Stranded, every aspect of our evening was amazing. No doubt we wil be seeing you again next year!"
Living outside London, my husband discovered Stranded in London via the web and made a reservation online for 4pm on Friday 6th July. A few days before this we had a call stating that there had been an error and that we could book for either 2.30 pm or 5.00 pm instead. We picked the later option and felt very pleased with the service received already.
On the 6th July we arrived a few minutes early and were the first to dine, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the meal was excellent. We felt the food was great value for money for the center of London. We can not comment on the wines as we did not have any of these.
Assuming ratings below are out of 10 with 10 being the highest we would rate all as 10/10!
We will be coming back to London in the next few weeks and hope to be able to eat in Stranded in London again then!
This is a really nice restaurant and really handy for pre or even after the theater. The service was really good and the staff were most helpful and friendly. On the day we went the tour de france was on so they had a special set menu three courses for £18 or two for £16, we ate from this and the food was fabulous. I would definitley eat here again.
Went here with my friends after a day out shopping in london.
The staff were lovely and the food was fantastic, The nice thing about this place is that you can sit and enjoy the food with out anyone bothering you everty 2 minutes.
The lay out is lovely to,would come here again
The great thing about this restaurant is that it is owner managed. Marco is the ideal host, even throwing in a free whisky at the end of the meal.
The service is quick, very friendly and unobtrusive. The steak is top class....even better than Morton's in Hong Kong.
I've not had a better bit of beef anywhere and if you're common like me the chips are fantastic. Throw in profiterolls made by Marco's mum and the meal was superb and exceptionally good value for central London.
I guess the competition is Smollenskys up the road which (in my mind) suffers from an indifferent service and 20% dearer. Nice selection of wines too....the pino grigio being perfectly chilled on a warm day.
We ate at Rules the night before (£118), the beef at Stranded was better (He goes to market to select fresh beef and fish every morning) and the price of £58 for two (including wine) made it a rare 'bargain' in central London. Very highly recommended.
We've since recommended to friends who have been equally impressed
We went here on my birthday earlier in April. We hadn't booked anywhere but this place had good ratings here so we thought we would try it out. It was smaller than I expected and quite busy at that time (6:30) but luckily they had one two-person table left. The food was really lovely, not too fussy, with a really good choice on the menu - I had difficulty deciding what to go for. The staff were really helpful but unobtrusive (and actually Italian - which is a rare find in London). The meal for two of us with a few drinks only came to just over £40. The tip was added onto the bill, but we certainly didn't mind paying. Later on in the evening they turned down the lights and brought out candles and the atmosphere was very different, really nice. We would definately come here again
16 of us had dinner here. The food was delicious & good value, the service excellent & everyone worked hard to ensure we had a great night. An Italian friend couldn't fault the food.
We had a dinner for 17 in the private room at Stranded in London. Nice atmosphere, very good food and excellent service.
Discovered this little gem while waiting to collect our daughter from a nearby rock concert.
Went for the 3 Course set dinner menu which was excellent value together with the house white which was surprisingly French but terriffic.
Going back in Oct & wouldn't hessitate to recommend for both effecient friendly service & value.
Good value menu, good choice of dishes and nice service. The wine was excellent and the tira misu the best I've had in ages. And best of all and why we stayed initially before we had eaten the airconditioning was effective.A restuarant I've already recommended to 2 friends and we'll be going back in September when we see Evita.
My sister and I visited this restaurant and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting London and it is ideal for a pre-show dinner.
Friendly atmosphere, helpful and beutifully done food, the food is homemade and out of this world. You simply must visit stranded in london.
